By now, everyone in America (save for the goat herders) knows about the economy, the election, the candidates, etc, etc.  And most of us probably know about the news yesterday... Bush warns us that "our entire economy is in danger."  McCain is postponing his campaign and wants to postpone the first debate to "set politics aside?" (thanks a lot, John), Obama says the race and debate must go on because this is "exactly when the American people need to hear from the candidates?"  (thank you, Barack. you must know I'm coming.)

The pundits are out in full force trying to scoop the story and everyone is tuned in to see if the debate goes on.  Open your local paper and it's probably the lead.  But come on, who really cares what they think.  What does Oxford think?   What do you, the people and citizens of Oxford, MS, think about these politics?  Is McCain making a "lesser evil" choice?  What about Obama?   Are they just playing politics?   Do YOU want the debate to go on?   What are you most excited about?  Do you even care about the debate?   What's the scene like down here?  How many Hotty Toddy chants did you reel off last night?   How many toddies did you drink last night?  Is Oprah really in town, staying on the square?  (that's what I heard last night.)  Who else have you spotted in town?  Cindy McCain?  Michelle Obama?  I hear they're both here.
